An emerging writer from Lancaster has been recognised by BAFTA for his latest thriller which could now end up on our TV screens.
Tony Povah's new television pilot drama 'Morlock' was chosen for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing showcase out of more than 700 entries.
The competition called for submissions from film, television drama, children, family and comedy scripts from all over the UK.
Following a judging process, selected works were chosen to be performed by a cast of professional actors - including stars of the hit show Game of Thrones - to a Zoom audience of producers, directors and agents - aiming to give a platform to emerging writers across the country.
After the showcase took place earlier this week in London, Tony now hopes that 'Morlock' will be picked up for production and has already had a few approaches.

The plot is about a Russian bomber pursued by the RAF which explodes over the UK.
A civilian air crash investigator is then press ganged into leading the investigation.
Racing against her menacing Russian counterpart, she discovers the secretive world of advanced civilian technology used by the military.
Having written stories and comics as a child, University of Central Lancashire and Lancaster University graduate Tony started writing seriously in 2017 after his first TV script reached the BBC Drama Room finals.
He then won a place on the New Writing North Significant Ink programme for emerging writers from under represented backgrounds.
Tony has made three award-winning short films with Bina Film, and Morlock has been ranked as the number one thriller on global hosting platform Coverfly.
His work has also been selected for numerous film festivals and screenwriting contests.
