Lancaster rock star to release film documentary of his life

Lancaster rock star John Waite is set to release a new film documentary of his life and career.

John Waite - 'The Hard Way' is a personal and candid retrospective of the 80s star's five-decade career which began in Lancashire and took him to the heights of two US number one hits.

John is originally from Lancaster and began his music career in the local area before earning success in the band The Babys.

He achieved worldwide fame when his rock ballad 'Missing You' became a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, reaching number one in the Billboard Hot 100 in America in 1984.

John later scored another US number one with 'When I See You Smile' as front man of Bad English.

Now living in California, Waite often returns to Lancaster and is very proud of his North West roots.

John Waite - The Hard Way features lost and rare archival music videos, photos, and very personal and candid lockdown interviews, as John reflects on his career.

He recounts his struggles inside the commercialised world of the music business and his independent pursuits as a solo, live music artist.

The film will be released in the USA and Canada on December 6, and available for rental or purchase on Apple TV and Amazon and all major cable systems ON-Demand platforms. DVDs and BluRay discs will be available for purchase on Amazon.
