Lancaster man charged with burgling elderly woman’s house

A Lancaster man has appeared in court charged with burgling an elderly woman’s house.

Officers were called to the home address of an 82-year-old female in Lancaster on Saturday (October 8).

A purse was stolen from the address, and cards from the purse were found to be used in three fraud offences in the Lancaster area.

Daniel Ho, 30, of Anthony Road, Lancaster has been charged with burglary in a dwelling and theft, theft from a shop and three counts of fraud by false representation.

He denies all the charges and has been remanded in custody to appear in court on November 9.

Chief Superintendent Karen Edwards, of Lancashire Police, said: ‘’Offenders who commit any crime within my division need to be reminded that your criminal behaviour will not be tolerated, and you are not welcome here. I expect officers to continue with their proactive and robust stance, utilising both covert and overt policing tactics, to ensure we continue to put offenders before the courts.

‘’I am incredibly proud of all my officers, who deliver fantastic results in such a challenging job.

‘’I am committed to keeping people safe and working alongside the community to address the issues that matter the most to them. I offer my sincere thanks to the community for their continued support.’’
