Lancaster cyclist raises £2,900 from 500 mile castle-to-castle ride

Gillian Sheath at Lancaster Castle

A Lancaster cyclist has raised just over £2,900 after riding between two of the UK's best-known castles.

Gillian Sheath completed a 500 mile castle-to-castle challenge from Lancaster Castle to Cardiff Castle, then back home.

Gillian's Justgiving page has, at time of writing, raised £2,906.

The retired occupational therapist chose to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support after a friend's husband died of cancer, aged 42.

Over the past two years she has cycled solo to Lands End and raised £2800 for the Alzheimer’s Society, then pedalled solo to Beach Head in Sussex in aid of The Samaritans, again raising £2800.

You can find Gillian's fundraising page here.  The page is open until September 30.
