The new manager at a historic pub on the banks of the River Lune has big plans for the future including the return of its traditional fireworks viewing night.
Matt Peel is bringing back a Bonfire Night event which has pulled massive crowds to the Golden Ball at Snatchems in the past.
The 17th century pub and hotel offers spectacular views across the Lune towards the fireworks display which will be launched from Lancaster Castle on the night of Saturday November 5.
So The Golden Ball is putting on a ticket-only fireworks viewing event with only limited places - and tickets are already selling fast.

"Speaking to some of the regulars, they've said to us that this is a really great vantage point for the Lancaster Castle fireworks and it gets incredibly busy," said Matt.
"So we've decided to put on an event on November 5, weather permitting. We're going to have a DJ outside, we've got a special music performance, it's going to be a ticketed event with hot food, outdoor drinks and the opportunity to enjoy the fireworks in a relaxed atmosphere from our outdoor viewing area.
"It's selling so fast and we've only got limited tickets."
In previous years when the Golden Ball hosted a fireworks viewing event, the night proved so popular that the narrow riverside road leading to the pub was sometimes dangerously crammed with parked cars and traffic.
"I'm getting in touch with Traffic Control (and) the outside road will be a no parking area; we only have limited parking in our car park," said Matt.
"So keeping that road clear is going to be a prime thing we need to look into.
"If that road is blocked, it also blocks access for emergency vehicles, so we have to keep that road clear."
Other upcoming events at The Golden Ball include an open mic night, a quiz night, 'Breakfast with Santa' at Christmas and more.
Under new head chef Jamie Hawkins, the pub is serving a full menu including breakfasts and will be putting on special themed food nights.
Matt took over in August when the pub reopened under new ownership following a refurbishment after being closed for three years.
He previously worked in bars in Morecambe town centre including as manager of The Palatine and at the former Ma Murphy's Irish pub (now The Bull) on Lines Street.
The Golden Ball has a storied history dating back to the 1600s.
It was frequently visited by press gangs who would conscript young men into the merchant navy. It was also said to be a popular haunt for smugglers.
Please check tide times before visiting the pub/hotel as the road outside can flood during high tides.
