Residents of Morecambe who have suffered anti-social behaviour are "frustrated" as they wait for CCTV to be installed near their homes.
People who live in the Fisherman's Square area of Poulton say they have been promised CCTV by Lancaster City Council after a spate of vandalism, nuisance and intimidation - mainly by young people.
This has included damage to homes and vehicles.
The residents were expecting the video cameras to be installed by now to give them "peace of mind".
But Lancaster City Council say the plan to install CCTV is "still being worked on".
One of the residents, Louise Clague, spoke to Beyond Radio about the issues they are having.
"We've been having lots of anti-social behaviour," she said.
"There's been vandalism to property and vehicles. One of the residents, an elderly resident, had some stone thrown at her.
"General nuisance, intimidation, those sorts of things.
"There needs to be something put in place to stimulate these kids.
"It's probably from the ages of 11 up to about 17. I've spoken to a few of them, some are really nice kids, they say they are bored, and the best thing they can get is a chase by the police, because it's the excitement.
"They really need to take a look at the bigger picture and engage with these younger people. They need a kickabout area, a basketball net, volleyball, whatever. There's nothing for them to do.
"It's probably been the last year when it's been really bad. It has got worse. CCTV (won't) fix the problem immediately, but it's a deterrent, and it gives peace of mind to the residents.
"A lot of (the residents) are exhausted, upset, tired of the situation. They are a bit deflated, to be honest."
The residents set up a petition at Change.org hoping to get CCTV and also gravel removed from Fisherman's Square, as it was being used as a weapon.
The stones have now been removed but the residents are still waiting for CCTV, which they were expecting last month, and they are worried the council has changed its mind due to a drop in complaints.
"We had a written email to say we were having CCTV installed," said Louise Clague.
"Everybody seemed to be a lot more relaxed. A lot of the residents stopped calling and logging complaints all the time, because they didn't want to block up the lines for other people trying to get through to the emergency services.
"They were pretty tired out from having to be constantly keeping an eye and ear out, checking and moving vehicles, because they don't feel safe parking them outside their properties.
"We need to be supported. If the funding and infrastructure is in place for them to install the CCTV, why are we having to wait?
"It's really frustrating that they are dragging it out and it feels unfair."
Councillor Caroline Jackson, leader of Lancaster City Council and chair of the Lancaster District Community Safety Partnership, said: “Taking action to reduce anti-social behaviour in our district and ensuring our neighbourhoods are clean and safe for our residents is one of our top priorities.
“I am glad to say that the plan to install CCTV in the Poulton area is still being worked on by city officers. We are finalising costings and conducting privacy impact assessments required for extending CCTV coverage. We are continuing to monitor the space with the neighbourhood policing teams before installation.
“Local police feedback about the nature and level of ASB in this area is important to our plans. We are also considering what additional action can be taken in improving the space as we work in partnership towards a positive outcome for this area of Poulton."
A spokesperson for local police said they are aware of ongoing issues of anti-social behaviour in the area and asked residents to ensure they reported all incidents to them either via 101, the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 or email.
