An up-and-coming Lancaster singer has told Beyond Radio about how a pop music superstar became a fan of his new single.
George Lawson visited our studios recently to talk about his new track 'Me & U' which you can hear on our playlist and has also been getting airplay on Radio 1.
The 22-year-old, who was born in Lancaster and lives in Kirkby Lonsdale, also has a famous fan of his music - I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here winner and McFly bass player Dougie Poynter.
Dougie is pictured below (left) with the other members of McFly, who have had seven UK number one hit singles.
"I was at a gig in London and I was in the crowd, and then all of a sudden I looked behind me, and a few of the boys from McFly were there," said George.
"They were my childhood! I had posters of them on my wall!
"Later Dougie listened to my song and added it to his own personal playlist. He's liked it. That's enough reason for anyone else to love it!"
