Heysham man home from America after 25 years to take over seafront cafe

A Heysham man has returned home after 25 years living in America to take over a popular Morecambe seafront cafe.

Lee Harrison and his wife Ayme are the new managers of the Clock Tower Cafe on Morecambe promenade.

Former Heysham High School pupil Lee was born and bred in the area, then left with his family to move to the USA while in his 20s.

He lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, working in real estate, while Ayme ran a Tiki bar/restaurant.

Now Lee has returned to Morecambe with Ayme, and says "home is where the heart is".

LISTEN NOW to Lee Harrison talking about returning to Morecambe and plans for the Clock Tower Cafe:

"You can move away but it's never really home," said Lee.

"We got to the point after Covid where we were ready for a change and needed something new to do.

"(Clock Tower Cafe owner) Huey O'Hagan is retiring and was looking for someone to manage and run it while he's away.

"We're looking to expand the menu, and get more into sundaes and milkshakes, and add to what's been successful over the past few years.

"If the weather isn't great then people can come and eat inside and see the spectacular views across the Bay."
