Friends of missing Lancaster man to meet up on his 29th birthday

Friends of a man who went missing in Lancaster almost four months ago will renew an appeal to find him on his 29th birthday.

Daniel Hives was last seen on the night of December 10 2022 leaving an address in City View, Sidings Close, Lancaster, which is close to the River Lune.

Friends of Dan organised a search for him on March 3 at the Millennium Bridge, near where he went missing, and will return to the Bridge on Wednesday March 29 at 12.30pm for another event hoping to help with the search to find him.

They will set up a table with banners, posters and flyers displaying Daniel's face, and are also asking for help to fix blue balloons the whole way around the bridge to raise awareness of his disappearance and mark his 29th birthday.

The dad-of-one, who who has links to Preston, is described as 6ft tall, of slim build, with short brown hair. When he was last seen, he was wearing a blue Hugo Boss tracksuit and black trainers.

Dan is originally from Coventry, then moved to Preston about eight years ago, and was staying in Lancaster at the time of his disappearance.

Lancashire Police’s search teams which includes dogs and drones have been involved in the search to find him, as has the police’s North West Underwater Search and Marine Unit, specialist water rescue personnel and dogs from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, together with Lancaster Area Search and Rescue and the National Police Air Service.

Anyone with information about Daniel and where he might be, please contact police on 101 – quoting log 0250 of December 12.

A public Facebook group 'Join the Search to Find Daniel Hives' has also been set up.
