Firefighters removed a car roof to free an injured woman following a road traffic collision in Galgate.

The crash happened on Chapel Lane on Wednesday.

North West Ambulance Service said they were called at 5.53pm to reports of a road traffic collision.

An ambulance and an advanced paramedic went to the scene and a woman in her mid-30s was taken to hospital with a neck injury.

Fire crews freed her from the vehicle after removing its roof.

Two fire engines from Lancaster went to the scene and were there for around one hour and 10 minutes.

A police spokesperson said the incident was a minor injury collision involving two vehicles.

Police closed the road following the incident but it was open again later that evening.
