Fight fans from local area cheer on Tyson Fury at Wembley on "massive day for Morecambe"

Local fight fans Mick Robinson, Sarah Taylor, Emma Sharples and Cheryl Lewis cheering on Tyson Fury and Isaac Lowe at Wembley

Fight fans from the Lancaster and Morecambe area took over Wembley Stadium to support local boxers Tyson Fury and Isaac Lowe on Saturday night.

Support for the WBC Heavyweight Champion Fury was huge both inside and outside the iconic London venue.

Tyson was an overwhelming crowd favourite for his title defence against challenger Dillian Whyte as he was roared on by 94,000 fans.

Mick Robinson from Morecambe, his girlfriend Sarah Taylor and their friends Cheryl Lewis and Emma Sharples were among them.

Mick said he was "ecstatic" to be there.

"You see Tyson out and about, you see him in the shops, we leave him to himself, and it's just a great thing for the town," he said.

"Hopefully it won't be his last fight."

"I've been waiting for this for a long time, Tyson is a bit of a hero of mine," said Simon.

"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and I thought, I need to be there.

"He's such an amazing character and entertainer.

"I've met him a couple of times. I met him at the Winter Gardens, we had a bit of chat. He's so down-to-earth and friendly.

"Tyson (pictured below) is such a champion of Morecambe. He loves the place and he talks about it, and he's proud of where he's from. It's a massive day for Morecambe."

Lee Watson, a well-known club DJ, music producer and actor from Morecambe, was also at the Wembley event.

Lee was DJing inside the Boxpark venue on Wembley Way, where fans converged in the morning and afternoon for a pre-event extravaganza called 'Fury Fest'.

This included meet-and-greets and live Q&As with boxing legends including former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis and two-weight world champion Ricky Hatton.

Here is Lee (centre) pictured at the 'Fury Fest' with Scott Cockburn and Ryan Cunningham from Morecambe.

Lee said DJing at Fury Fest was "simply amazing" and "an experience I will always remember".

"Watching Tyson Fury with 94,000 people was incredible," he said.

"He is the best and an inspiration."
