Dukes Theatre celebrate Lottery funding

The Dukes Theatre in Lancaster is celebrating after being awarded funding from the National Lottery.

The grant from the National Lottery Community Fund and the National Lottery Players will facilitate a three-year project to reimagine and revive the venue’s ‘Prime Time’ activity.

Prime Time offers creative workshops for older people across Lancaster & Morecambe and is a wonderful way for The Dukes to support the community to lead happier lives through creative arts.

Prime Time was initially launched during Christine Mackie's production of KIN in May, offering people the chance to work with Christine to create monologues in response to the production.

This week, those participants were invited by the theatre to come together to watch their filmed monologues on the venue’s cinema screen, where they were surprised with the announcement of funding for the project.

You can find out more about the Prime Time project by emailing creativecommunities@dukeslancaster.org
