Cult hero EastEnders star brings 'Barrioke' to Lancaster

Cult showbiz favourite Shaun Williamson - aka 'Barry from EastEnders' - is coming to Lancaster to host a night of 'Barrioke'.

The actor and singer, famed for playing the hapless car dealer Barry Evans in EastEnders, will host a "feelgood karaoke party" at the Kanteena on Friday, May 27.

The event is described as "a riotous joyous moment that people will never forget".

Shaun rose to fame playing the loveable buffoon Barry in the BBC1 soap between 1994 and 2004.

Barry suffered one of the most iconic death scenes in soap history, when his wife Janine Butcher pushed him over a cliff edge.

Since leaving the soap, Shaun has become a cult hero, partly thanks to the enduring popularity of his EastEnders character.

He has also starred in Extras, Life’s Too Short, West End musicals, won celebrity 'Stars in Their Eyes' as Meat Loaf, beat five Chasers on ITV's 'Best the Chasers' to win £120,000 for charity, and has now taken the music festival scene by storm with his Barrioke events.

Expect warmth, banter and plenty of crowd participation on stage.

Tickets are available at Skiddle.com
