A statement on Silverdale Fire Station Facebook page said:

"Last night Silverdale and crews from Carnforth and Milnthorpe were called out at 19.46 to reports of a caravan on fire.

"On arrival at the incident Silverdale crew were met with a well developed fire on the driveway adjacent to two nearby properties.

"Using a hose reel and main jet the fire was soon brought under control and extinguished minimising any further damage to the adjacent two properties.

"We are very short of On Call Firefighters at Silverdale and need to recruit more to keep our fire appliance fully crewed and ready to respond. If you have ever thought this is something you might be interested in please pop into the station on a Wednesday evening and come and have a look round and chat with the crew."
