Covid-19 spring booster vaccinations begin in North Lancashire and South Cumbria

The most vulnerable residents in North Lancashire and South Cumbria are now able to get their COVID-19 spring booster vaccination.

Eligible people across the region can book an appointment to have the jab or attend a walk-in centre without waiting to be invited by the NHS.

“While life has mostly returned to normal for many, and people aren’t talking about COVID-19 to the same degree anymore, the virus is still circulating and causing serious illness," said Jane Scattergood, senior responsible officer for the Lancashire and South Cumbria COVID-19 vaccination programme.

Any appointment should take place at least three months since your last dose.

The first or second dose COVID-19 vaccinations for everyone who has yet to receive a vaccine will end on June 30, after which the NHS offer will become more targeted in its offer, focusing on individuals with increased risk.

Individuals who have not yet received their first or second dose of the vaccine (including those considering foreign travel) should come forward as soon as possible to make sure they don’t miss their opportunity.
