The leader of Lancaster City Council has spoken out after her home was targeted by vandals.
Councillor Caroline Jackson believes she was deliberately targeted after her garden was vandalised on Sunday night.
The Green party councillor was speaking about the incident at a Lancaster City Council meeting at Morecambe Town Hall on Wednesday night.
She was asked by fellow councillor Cary Matthews if she thought she'd been deliberately targeted because she was council leader.
"Yes, I was targeted late on Sunday night by some vandal activity close to the house," she told her fellow councillors.
"It was upsetting, I do still feel a bit shaky about it.
"None of my neighbours saw or heard what had happened.
"There was no other damage anywhere on the street.
"It was very distressing. It makes you feel, who did it and why? Did I do something wrong?
"It gave me that real sense of sympathy with those who suffer anti-social behaviour that's targeted at them.
"We've had some issues in Morecambe in particular.
"There was also far right leafleting nearby of an unpleasant nature. Whether that is linked, I don't know."
Councillor Jackson said she would take advice from council officers on whether to remove her full address from the council website.
The council leader received sympathy from fellow councillors who spoke in support of her.
Councillor Roger Dennison, from the Morecambe Bay Independent group, said he was "appalled" and that it was "completely unacceptable in a democratic country".
