‘Considerable amount’ of cocaine and cash discovered after van stopped in Morecambe

Cocaine and cash has been discovered after a van was stopped in Morecambe.

Last Saturday (January 13), two local men were arrested after Morecambe Area Police’s Road Crime Team noticed a Ford Transit that was driving without any insurance or road tax.

Following a pursuit, the vehicle was eventually bought to a stop on Marlborough Road.

Two men aged 67 and 48 were arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences, and following an investigation by officers from Lancaster CID, one has been charged with eight offences, after the discovery of what police say was a ‘considerable amount’ of cash and drugs.

The local Road Crime Team is made up of officers who target those who use the highways for criminal means and activity.
