Bolton-le-Sands Strongman breaks world record

A strongman from Bolton-le-Sands has broken the world record of lifting the heaviest weight using only one arm.

Josh Lancaster was competing at a Strongman Competition in Preston, and first lifted 96.7kg, and then 100kg in his single arm dumbbell world record, beating the previous record of 96.2kg.

It means Josh is the lightest person in history to lift this weight overhead using only one arm.

He also took part in the England's Strongest Man Competition under 80 kilos where he came runner-up out of 21 competitors.

Josh already holds the current title of ‘England’s Strongest Man u90kg’ after coming first in the England’s Strongest Man u90kg competition last year.

In November he finished 17th at World’s Strongest Man u80kg in Daytona, Florida, and just last month came in the top 10 at ‘England’s Strongest Man u105kg’ in Doncaster, competing against others 20kg heavier.

He will next compete for the title of U80kg Britain’s Strongest Man next month, and later in the year competes in the final of u80kg World’s Strongest Man.

Josh also has a sponsorship page for people to donate to help Ukrainian refugees, as part of his attempt, after being inspired to fundraise after his in-laws took in two people from the country.
