Winners announced at prestigious Lancashire business awards

A Heysham financial advisers, a holiday park firm and a Lancaster digital company were among the local winners at prestigious countywide business awards.

TP Financial Solutions, Pure Leisure Group and Chiptech won at the Lancashire Red Rose Business Awards, held on Thursday night at Blackpool Winter Gardens.

TP won in the Professional Services category while Pure Leisure won the Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality Award.

Chiptech, based at Palatine Hall in Lancaster, won two awards, triumphing in the Medium Business and Scale-up Award categories.

The British Jewellery School, based at Wyresdale Park in Scorton, won Best New Business.

Local finalists also included the Midland hotel in Morecambe and Morecambe Sparkle CIC, organisers of the Baylight light festival, who were shortlisted in the Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality category.

TP Financial Solutions is run by Annabel Lumsden and Tarnia Elsworth (pictured below).

In a post on their Facebook page they said: "Can’t quite believe it! This means so much, four and a half years of hard graft, to be recognised on the Lancashire stage.

Congratulations to the shortlisted businesses, an awesome achievement in itself to be top six.

"We may be small, but we are mighty!

We have stuck to our values of providing, accessible, friendly, approachable, top-notch financial planning, with a focus on giving back to our community, and it has paid off.

"Thank you, to Lancashire Business View for the excellent do, and opportunity, thank you to the judging panel, and category sponsor Porsche Centre Preston for choosing us for this honour."

Pure Leisure Group, owned by leading leisure entrepreneur John Morphet, runs 19 holiday parks in the UK, including several in the North Lancashire and Morecambe Bay area, and Royal Westmorland in Barbados, a luxury five-star development with houses around a golf course with views of the Caribbean. 

Chiptech UK specialises in digital telecare products and services.

In a post on their Facebook page, Chiptech UK said: "We are overjoyed to have won BOTH the Scale Up and Medium Business awards at yesterday’s Red Rose Awards.

"This is testament to the dedication, effort and values of the whole Chiptech Community."

EWGA Wines of Carnforth also triumphed in the Lancashire Business View Award category.

''Our entry showed how we stand out as a business in the very competitive wine industry. Our unique offerings, such as the online training platform, set us apart and demonstrate our dedication to exceeding expectations.

Other local finalists included Leighton Hall at Carnforth, shortlisted for Outstanding Collaboration; Lancaster recruitment firm The Eventus Recruitment Group, nominees for the Professional Services Award; Unique Kidz & Co, a Morecambe-based charity for disabled young people, nominated for the Not for Profit Award; and North Star Projects, a Heysham-based business consultancy firm, shortlisted for the Export Award.

The Lancashire Business View Red Rose Awards, launched in 2011, promote success within the business community with the aim of encouraging trade within the county.
