Grace Owen is one of the showcasing artists at the first Lancaster Art Fair

A debut celebration of art in Lancaster showcasing the work of the city's artists is set to take place in July.

This first Lancaster Art Fair will feature a selection of independent artists in a fun, interactive event for the people of Lancaster.

The will feature work from Alice Evans, Sharon Grimes, Grace Owen, Jade Long, Al Avarez, Salem Folkmane, Karina Folkmane, Woo O'Hara, Julie Evans, Corinna Milroy, Holly Arnfield, Andy Mercer, Sophia Lima, Ginny Koppenhol and Hannah Corbett.

Admission is free and activities include a Creation Station and Doodle Tables with charcoal, collage, pastels, pencils, pens, paper and more, an 'Images of Lancaster' competition, art pin up wall, art challenges and more.

There will also be workshops including Smartphone Photography with Ginny, Printing with Julie, and Stampcity postcards and greeting cards with Hannah.

Organiser Hannah Corbett said: "This event grew organically, snowballing from a little idea - reaching out to a few fellow artists to see if anyone would be interested in doing a group exhibition - to a much bigger idea of creating the kind of event I felt Lancaster had been missing – something fun for all ages to get involved with and a place to shout about some of the great artists we have in the area."
