Renewed appeal following assault in Barrow

Police are renewing their appeal for information following a serious assault on Cavendish Street, Barrow.

The incident involved three males and a female, at just before 4am on Sunday (March 31).

A man in his 50s remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

A female was also assaulted following the initial incident causing no injury.

A 24-year-old man from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been released on police bail.

A 16-year-old boy from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of attempted to assault a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm was released under investigation.

Officers are continuing with their enquiries and are appealing to members of the public, those working in the area such as taxi drivers who may have witnessed the incident or where in the area at the time.
