Man charged after drugs found in vehicle at Tebay services

A man has been charged with a drug offence after his vehicle was stopped by police near Tebay Services.

On Monday (April 29), officers seized around 5kg of cannabis from the vehicle, with an estimated street value of between £15,000 and £20,000.

A man in his 20s from Sunderland, appeared before Carlisle Magistrates Court, charged with possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.

The seizure forms part of forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
