Wins for Milo, Bradley and Wakeman on Morecambe amateur boxing show

'Milo' (black vest) defeated Ryan Scott over three rounds

Morecambe-based boxers scored impressive wins on the latest night of amateur boxing at the Red Rose Community Centre in the town.

There were wins for Declan Wakeman, Geraint Bradley and Aimal 'Milo' Sharifi on the Coastal Amateur Boxing Club show on Saturday night.

Wakeman continued his run of good form with a close but unanimous decision win over Mohammed Khanjra from Technique Amateur Boxing Club in Blackburn, who he'd also beaten to win the North West Youth Development Title in September.

Declan, who earned a silver medal in the England Boxing National Development Championships last month, landed the crisper blows over three rounds in a fine contest of well-matched boxers.

Geraint Bradley, making his debut, had a tough opponent in Sultan Ali from Belle Vue in an all-action fight.

Bradley recovered from suffering a standing count to come on strong late on, throwing a huge amount of punches in a thrilling final round, to keep Ali on the back foot.

Ali fought back hard, as both boxers rocked each other with eye-catching bursts. In the end, Bradley earned the deserved nod from the judges.

'Milo' is rapidly becoming a crowd favourite at Coastal due to his power-punching and charisma, and his win over Ryan Scott from Furness Catholic Club showcased both.

Sharifi floored his opponent twice and also gave him a standing count on his way to a dominant points victory.

Harvey Higham and Harley Butcher (pictured below in white and green) both gave their all, in bouts earlier in the evening, both being defeated on points.

Coastal's Dave Reay, Billy Thompson, Riley Jones and Dave Harrison were also in action in 'skills' where the judges do not score.

Coastal Amateur Boxing will return with their next show at the Red Rose Community Centre in early 2023.
