Warton Stock Car Club revs its engines for first meeting of 2023 season

Warton Stock Car Club returns for a new season of crash-bang action

Warton Stock Car Club are getting ready for the first points scoring meeting of 2023.

The Silver Wheels Cup is the club’s second race day of the year, the first being the Midwinter Madness in January, and will take place this Sunday (March 12), marking the beginning of the club’s racing season.

Sunday’s meeting will feature 1600cc Bangers, Junior Rookies, Stock Cars, Ministox, Senior Minis and Mini F2 Stock Cars.

Around 100 drivers are already booked in to race on Sunday, with many driving at Warton for the first time.

Stock car racing has become increasingly popular in recent years, and Warton Stock Car Club is the only club in Lancashire that has a short oval track, making the races more exciting.

Children from ages 11 to 16, who compete in Ministox racing, and men and women of all ages, can take part in stock car racing – it really is fun for all the family, both to drive and to watch!

Tickets for watching the races are available and cash on the gate is accepted, with adult tickets priced at £10, concessions and under 16s at £5 and under 10s getting free entry. Advance tickets can still be purchased and used for all the club’s meetings and they can be purchased from this link.

Warton Stock Car Club offers trackside parking to its visitors, and trackside can actually be one of the best places to watch the action – spaces are limited so it is advised that people wanting to park their cars trackside do it early in the day.

The fixtures for the season are as follows:
