Lancaster City look to return to winning ways against Belper Town

Lancaster City will look to return to winning ways when they face bottom club Belper Town.

The Dollies will want to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to Nantwich Town last weekend, which “disgusted” Dollies boss Mark Fell.

It was a result and performance that completely contrasted the previous three. City had deservedly won three on the bounce, all at home, before they travelled to Nantwich.

They haven’t won on the road since November but, against a Belper Town side who have only won twice at home in the league this season, they have as good a chance as any to put an end to that unwanted streak.

The Dollies announced this week that on-loan Barrow defender Pawel Zuk, who was absolutely crucial to their recent victories, has extended his stay at the club until the end of the season.

Belper Town, who were promoted via the NPL Division One Midlands playoffs last season, have not won in their last six league games and sit rock bottom of the league, with 22 points, 15 adrift of safety.

The Nailers were also knocked out of the Derbyshire FA Senior Challenge Cup this week at the semi final stage, losing 3-2 to Derby County Acadeny.

Belper Town v Lancaster City kicks off at Raygar Stadium on Saturday (March 18) at 3pm.

Lancaster City return to Giant Axe on March 25, which is Non League Day, to face Hyde United. Before the game, Lancaster Civic Society will unveil a plaque to honour former Lancaster City Ladies player and Dick, Kerr Ladies legend Jennie Harris.

The club are also reducing ticket prices for this game. Ticket prices are reduced to £5 for adults, with concessions, students and young adult prices at £3 and under 14s going free with a paying adult.
