Lancaster City host FC United of Manchester looking for upturn in form

Dom Lawson of Lancaster City

Lancaster City host FC United of Manchester hoping to get a much needed three points.

The Dolly Blues have only won once since mid-September, despite a very strong start to the campaign which saw them second in the league following their first seven games.

However, after just one win in their last seven games, they are currently 15th in the NPL Premier Division.

Lancaster’s last two games have both been 1-0 losses to Basford United and Gainsborough Trinity.

FC United of Manchester are just below them in 16th and have had a very interesting range of results this season.

While Neil Reynolds’ side have beaten Marske United and Morpeth Town - the latter in the FA Trophy - by convincing scorelines in recent weeks, they have also suffered a few heavy defeats so far in their campaign.

League losses to Marine, Morpeth Town, Radcliffe and Warrington Rylands - all by three goals or more this season - could give the Lancaster fans, players and staff hope that they can get their first goal since October 24 after three consecutive games of frustration for the City forwards.

Defender Pawel Zuk, who was on loan at Lancaster from Barrow for the second half of last season, now plays for FC United of Manchester and could make his return to The Giant Axe this weekend.

Lancaster City v FC United of Manchester kicks off at 3pm on Saturday (November 11).
