Vintage by the Sea will return to Morecambe as 2024 dates are announced

The Vintage by the Sea festival will return in 2024

Organisers have confirmed that the popular Vintage by the Sea festival will return to Morecambe in 2024.

The event will take place on Saturday August 31 and Sunday September 1.

Vintage by the Sea has been running in Morecambe since 2013 and pulls thousands to the town for a celebration of 20th century culture.

Morecambe arts company Deco Publique, who run the festival alongside designer and TV personality Wayne Hemingway and his family, have also launched a crowdfunding campaign "to make this year's festival bigger and better than ever before".

They are promising "a weekend filled with performances, family workshops, DJs, live music, delicious food, and so much more".

"We need your support to reach our goal," said a statement on the Deco Publique Facebook page, published on Wednesday.

"Once we reach a minimum number of backers, we have the opportunity to secure match funding to enhance the festival experience for all to enjoy!

"By donating just £5 you can help us reach this fundraising goal.

"Join us in celebrating all things vintage and seaside by supporting our crowdfunding campaign. Follow our channels as we share more about the campaign and what we hope to achieve."

The announcement that Vintage by the Sea is happening in 2024 comes as a boost to the town's festival season following the news last week that the Catch the Wind kite festival won't take place this summer.

Organisers More Music said this was mainly due to issues with obtaining funding.
