Mr Monopoly has visited the Ashton Memorial to launch the Lancaster edition of the iconic board game.
The world famous mascot of the hit Monopoly game was joined in Williamson Park by Councillor Joyce Pritchard, mayor of Lancaster, on Wednesday morning to make the official announcement.
The city will have its very own edition of the enduringly popular game after coming out on top in a region-wide competition against other cities.
The new game will see Lancaster landmarks such as Lancaster Castle, Lancaster University, the Maritime Museum, Lancaster Priory and the Williamson Park’s iconic Ashton Memorial replacing the likes of Mayfair and Park Lane from the classic MONOPOLY London original.
Residents will also be asked which local attractions they would like to see featured in the MONOPOLY: Lancaster Edition.
This means that Morecambe attractions including the Eric Morecambe Statue and the Winter Gardens, and other places in the district such as Carnforth Railway Station have a chance to be picked.
