The Voice UK star joins line-up for Lancaster Christmas Lights Switchon

Lancaster's The Voice UK star has joined the line-up for the Lancaster Christmas Lights Switchon 2022.

Olivia-Mae Mulqueeney will perform live on stage in Market Square on Sunday November 27 as part of a free live entertainment extravaganza to start the festive season.

The Lancaster teenager got through the first round on the ITV1 talent show in October, earning praise from superstar judges Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs.

The full line-up for the Lancaster Christmas Lights Switchon, organised by Lancaster BID, supported by Lancaster University and hosted by Beyond Radio, has now been revealed.

The switchon runs from 1.20pm to 6pm with the Christmas lights due to be turned on at around 5.10pm.

Events begin with the traditional warm-up on stage for the CancerCare Santa Dash.

Families are being invited to don their festive finery and make some memories by joining in the annual fun run around the city centre to raise funds for the local cancer charity.

The Santa Dash will begin at around 1.30pm as the fun runners are sent on their way by local samba drummers Samba Espirito (below).

Then join your host Greg Lambert, Beyond Bear and the team from Beyond Radio on stage for a full afternoon of live entertainment as follows.

2.35pm - Olivia-Mae Mulqueeney

3pm - Laura Sandham School of Dance

3.20pm - Dukes Theatre cast of Robin Hood

3.35pm - The Fourth Colour

5.10pm - Christmas Lights Switchon

5.15pm - Roses & Thorn and the Bobby Pin-Ups

Sunday November 27 will also be the first day of free parking in Lancaster City Council car parks over the Christmas period.
