Popular antiques TV show to air episode filmed in Lancaster

A popular antiques TV show is to air an episode filmed in Lancaster next week.

Renowned expert, David Harper, went along to the GB Antiques Centre on Lancaster Leisure Park on Wyresdale Road, to film for a new series of Antiques Road Trip, earlier this year.

The episode is on BBC1 next Thursday (November 30), at 3:45pm.

This popular show sees Britain’s best loved antiques experts travelling around the UK in classic cars.

They 'Road Trip' in pairs as they visit antiques shops, markets, and car boot sales, buying items that they eventually take to auction in the hope of selling them for a profit.

If they succeed, the proceeds are donated to Children In Need.

It’s a closely guarded secret what items were bought, so viewers will have to wait until the programme is aired later in the year to find out exactly what happened.

Speaking at the time , owner of GB Antiques, Jimmy Blackburn, said: ‘’We had a fabulous weekend.

‘’We spent two days filming for the new series. My lips are sealed as to what exactly went on and what he bought, but we had a great day together!’’

GB Antiques Centre is the country’s biggest indoor antiques and furniture centre, attracting 220,000 visitors every year, and housing around 120 individual dealers.
