This year's Poppy Appeal is under way across the local area and one stall had a visit from the heavyweight champion of the world.

Tyson Fury joined members of Carnforth Rotary at their poppy stall while the WBC Heavyweight Boxing Champion was shopping at Tesco in Carnforth.

Cadets and staff from 2246 Carnforth Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets have also been supporting this year's Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal at Carnforth Tesco.

In Lancaster, the branch of the Royal British Legion is looking for volunteers to sell poppies in Aldi on Aldcliffe Road and at Sainsburys on Cable Street.

In Morecambe, poppy stalls are open daily at local supermarkets including Morrisons, Lidl and Sainsburys, at the Arndale, and at weekends at Homebase on the Morrisons retail park.

The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal launched on October 27 and will run until Remembrance Sunday on November 13.

Collectors and volunteers will be out and about distributing poppies and collecting donations in local communities, shops, supermarkets and train stations.

You can also support the Poppy Appeal by donating online here.

Your poppy helps to fund the Royal British Legion's vital work supporting the Armed Forces community.
