Police appeal for help to find pensioner who went missing from Morecambe

Police have appealed for information after a pensioner went missing from Morecambe.

Edward Procter, 73, was last seen on Marine Road East, Morecambe, at 10:30am on Saturday April 13.

Police said they were concerned for Mr Procter's welfare.

He is 5ft 6, slim build, has thinning grey hair, and wears glasses.

When he was last seen, Mr Procter was wearing blue Levi jeans, a blue jacket with white fur lining, brown shoes, and a blue flat cap. He has links to Lancaster as well as Morecambe, said police.

Police have asked that people who see Edward should call 999. If you have any information as to where he might be, please call 101 quoting log 0688 of 13th April.

*On Saturday, emergency and rescue services were called to Marine Road East after a report to HM Coastguard at around 11.40am of a man entering the water.

The Coastguard helicopter and Morecambe lifeboat crew conducted an intensive search in which no person was found. 

Beyond Radio asked police to clarify if this operation was connected to Mr Procter being reported missing.

A police spokesperson said: "At this time, we are treating these as separate incidents."
