Photo of masked man released after police vehicle windscreen smashed in Morecambe town centre

This photo was released by Morecambe Area Police following the incident on Monday May 6

A photo of a masked man has been released after a police vehicle windscreen was smashed with a paving slab in Morecambe town centre.

Officers would like to speak to the man in the photograph, who is wearing a mask covering most of his face, after criminal damage to a police vehicle on Euston Road on Bank Holiday Monday, May 6 at around 4.20pm.

A paving slab was thrown at the windscreen of the vehicle whilst an officer was inside a nearby property taking details of another incident.

"We have now had to remove the vehicle from the road, meaning there is one less vehicle available to deploy to emergency incidents," said a police spokesperson.

"We ask anybody with any information about the incident or who can identify this male to contact our control room on 101 quoting log number LC-20240506-0997."
