Nominations are open for an awards night celebrating the best of businesses in Lancaster city centre.

Organisers Lancaster BID are seeking nominations for the Love Lancaster Business Awards 2023.

You can nominate your favourite business or staff member in the city centre across one of the 15 categories to make sure they have a chance of receiving the recognition they richly deserve.

Entries have already been flooding in across all categories with over 200 nominations already received in just over a week since launching.

The closing date for nominations is September 24 and winners will be announced at an awards dinner on November 9 at the Ashton Hall.

This year awards are up for grabs in the following categories:

· Visitor Attraction/Event of the Year

· Pub/Bar of the Year

· Restaurant of the Year

· Café/Coffee Shop of the Year

· Takeaway of the Year

· Independent Retailer of the Year

· Multiple Retailer of the Year

· Hair & Beauty Salon of the Year

· Professional Services Award

· Customer Service Team of the Year

· Manager of the Year

· Employee of the Year

· Young Person of the Year

· Ambassador of the Year

· Lancaster Superhero Award

Nominations can come from business owners, staff, customers, suppliers or anyone else who knows a business or individual in the city centre who they feel deserves recognition. You can make as many nominations as you like across the categories but remember to be persuasive – the judges will focus on the quality of nominations above how many are received.

All businesses must be located with the Lancaster BID zone in the city centre and all individual nominations must be for staff who work in this area. The only exception to this is the Superhero Award which is the only community award and seeks to recognise someone who has voluntarily gone above and beyond to benefit the community in and around Lancaster city centre.

"We are so grateful to our headline sponsor, Holdens Law, welcome drinks sponsor, CoastNCountry and all the category sponsors for making the awards possible," said Tony Johnson, Lancaster BID manager.

"The awards will showcase the best Lancaster has to offer and make sure our wonderful businesses and the people behind them get the recognition they so richly deserve.”

Nominations are open here.
