New date for Highest Point Festival 2021

Lancashire’s biggest music festival has announced a new date for later in the year and says ‘your tickets are safe and valid for the new date.’

The Highest Point festival was all set for a May 2020 date, but as the national Coronavirus pandemic hit the globe along with new government guidelines regarding mass gatherings which made it impossible to go ahead as planned.

The team behind the Lancashire event did hope that a 12 month delay would be enough to see away the effects of the virus which would have meant a new date of May 2021, however under the current restrictions and following the government's ‘roadmap to unlocking’, which was announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the end of February, means a new date had to be set which satisfies the current restrictions and fits with the government's timeline of unlocking.

The new date, which is now set for 3rd & 4th of September 2021, will see the same headlining artists such as Rag n’ Bone man, Becky Hill, Ella Ayre, Rudimental and Wilkinson all perform to thousands of music revellers under the iconic Ashton Memorial in Lancaster.

Richard Dyer the event organiser tells us:

“It’s been a real challenge to set a date, having to work around the understandable government guidelines and the availability of the performers and other such unpredictable elements of a large scale event of this nature.”

"We would like to say a huge thank you to the happy wedding couple who agreed to move their big day from the Saturday at The Ashton Memorial to allow the event to happen. Highest Point and the people of Lancaster are eternally grateful for their considerate understanding of our predicament and their generosity towards us."

“We’ve always been confident that we want this event to continue and to ensure we set a date at the most appropriate time ensuring we keep our guests safe whilst they have an amazing time listening to some top acts.”

“This year the event will take place over two days [Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th September 2021] and all the original artists who were booked for the original gig in 2020 have transferred over to the new September 21 date and all tickets are still valid for the new date.”

Richard continues; “We know that after the past 12 months of lockdown there’s a lot of people who will be excited to see live music once again and we look forward to seeing as many people at the Highest Point Festival as possible, however, if you’re unable to make the new dates, you are entitled to a refund – just contact us via the website for more details.”

The last event held in May 2019 saw over 15,000 music lovers dance and party under the spectacle of the Ashton Memorial in the beautiful Williamson Park in Lancaster, North Lancashire.

Tickets are expected to be in high demand and will go back on sale THIS FRIDAY (12th March 21) and can be purchased by visiting: https://highestpoint.co.uk/tickets/
