A singer from Morecambe has performed at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the legendary group Soul II Soul.

Natasha Bates is a full-time vocalist with the group, famed for their hits 'Back to Life', 'Keep on Movin' and 'Joy'.

Natasha performed with the band at the iconic London venue on Monday night and said: "It was ace! I had the best time!"

Soul II Soul, founded and fronted by Jazzie B, was formed in the late 80s.

The band has won two Grammy awards and been nominated for five Brit awards.

This was their Royal Albert Hall debut, and they performed tracks from their triple platinum number one album Club Classics Vol 1 and more of their greatest hits in front of a packed London audience (below).

As well as touring with Jazzie and the band, Natasha is also preparing for a nine-date European tour as part of a soul music tribute show called 'The Magic of Motown', where she plays the Motown legend Diana Ross.

"It will be a different city every day so it will be hectic but fun!" she said.

She performed in 'The Magic of Motown' in the local area back in October 2021, when the show visited the Lancaster Grand.

Last year Natasha released singles under the name 'Tashie Tones', including 'Like A Child', as heard regularly on the Beyond Radio playlist.

She also released 'You're Around' alongside her friend, Morecambe DJ Summer Jenkins aka Summer J.
