The More I See You

Local arts group looking to help bring UK City of Culture status to Lancashire

Local arts group Lancaster Arts Partners are asking local residents to support the move to make Lancashire UK City of Culture in 2025.

Lancashire is bidding to become UK City of Culture 2025. It will be the first time that a county-scale cultural programme will compete for the title and the team at Lancashire 2025 needs you, the residents of the Lancaster, Morecambe and Carnforth district, to help build a programme that will win this prestigious competition. Winning will bring about major change and lasting benefits for all of Lancashire.

Lancaster Arts Partnership say that Lancashire 2025 will be for everyone no matter what age, gender, race, sexuality, religion or education. Making sure everyone has a chance to get involved is at the heart of the Lancashire 2025 vision and by inviting everyone to have their say, we can make sure that the bid submitted belongs to us all, every single person in the county.

Lancashire 2025 exists to enhance the wellbeing of all people of the county, regardless of location, through unique arts and culture eco-system. To make that happen the organisation behind the bid have created three easy ways to start conversations with the 1.5 million people who live in Lancashire and we they would love local residents to get involved.

As the first countywide conversations take place and the project develops, they will start to introduce more ways to take part. But for now, here's how you can  get involved with Phase 1 of the project:

Fill in the Lancashire 2025 ‘Have Your Say’ survey. Completing this survey will help the organisation to start understanding the things that are happening in Lancashire right now and what residents think about them. They will use this information to make the strongest case possible for winning the title and bringing about a revolution for arts and culture across the county.

You can access the survey HERE
