Beyond Radio presenter Silent Mark has appeared on hit ITV Saturday night game show The 1% Club.
The host of Another Monday Evening Show on Beyond Radio was a contestant on the episode which aired on Saturday night, April 13.
The show, hosted by comedian Lee Mack, gives 100 contestants the chance to win £100,000 by answering a question that only 1% of the UK get right.
But first, they have to answer a series of logic questions with growing degrees of difficulty, knowing that one wrong move means elimination.
Real name Mark Read, from Morecambe, Silent Mark answered several questions correctly until becoming stumped on the 30% question, meaning he was eliminated.
But overall, he had a fantastic day filming in Manchester, and said he kept his TV appearance a secret even from his two children!
"I didn't tell anyone except my parents," said Mark, who was wearing a Morecambe and Wise-themed shirt on the show.
"My kids found out for the first time watching it with me!
"It's a show that I love, and I thought, I've got the type of brain that can do this.
"It was fun. You go in, sit down, they go through everything and tell you the rules.
"A lot of stuff goes into it, a lot of people behind the scenes who will check and double check answers.
"You go into the room, do a mic check and get on with it. We were there for about seven or eight hours."
The 1% Club won the Quiz Game Show Award at the 2023 National Television Awards and Best Entertainment Show two years in a row at the Broadcast Awards.
Mark said he believes he got onto the show because ITV liked a story he told in his application.
"They asked me to tell a funny story about myself, and mine was that I've signed an autograph on a prosthetic leg!"
This happened at a wrestling show, as Mark also appears as a ring announcer at professional wrestling events in Morecambe (pictured below).
He also works as a personal banker for Barclays bank.
