Historic and sometimes horrid happenings from Lancaster's storied past will feature in a series of new walks, talks and tours.
Award-winning Lancaster Walks, Talks & Tours have announced their plans for the New Year, as they gear up to welcome visitors to the city in 2025.
The tour company, who won 'Visitor Attraction of the Year' in the 2024 Lancaster BID Awards, will explore various aspects of the city's rich history through a series of guided walking tours.
Topics covered will include Lancaster's literary legacy, the city's maritime past, the Pendle Witches, and matters even more macabre.
The first of these tours, focusing on 'Hauntings, Hangings & Horrid Happenings', is taking place this evening (Friday January 17).
This will be followed by 'Witchcraft 1612 - A Walking Tour of Lancaster' on Wednesday January 29; 'Literary Lancaster - A World Book Day Celebration' on Tuesday March 6 and 'Lancaster - A Golden Age? A Walking Tour of Lancaster' on Tuesday March 25.
The company is operated by local guide Gregory Wright, who was awarded a 'Blue Badge for Lancashire & The North West' from The Institute of Tourist Guiding in 2004. The badge is recognised as the benchmark for excellence in tourist guiding in England.
