One of the biggest pop music icons from the 1980s will perform a show in Morecambe singing classic songs and reflecting on his career.
Paul Young will appear at The Platform on Wednesday April 30 in his 'From No Parlez to The Secret of Association - an Intimate Evening with Paul Young' show.
After having early success with bands Streetband and Q-Tips, Young broke into the big time in 1983 when his solo album 'No Parlez' went to number one and spawned hits like the number one smash 'Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home)', 'Love of the Common People' and 'Come Back and Stay'.
His follow-up album 'The Secret of Association' included further hits 'Everytime You Go Away', 'Everything Must Change' and 'I'm Going to Tear Your Playhouse Down'.
Paul sang the iconic opening line on the original 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' Band Aid record for famine relief in 1984, and then performed at the famous charity Live Aid concert the following year.
Further success came in the '90s with hits including 'Now I Know What Made Otis Blue' and 'Senza Una Donna (Without a Woman)' alongside Zucchero.
In more recent years Young, 68, has performed in his fun Tex-Mex band, Los Pacaminos, who also came to the Platform several years ago.
The Morecambe show will look back on his career, combining conversation and acoustic versions of songs. He will be meeting fans and telling stories about his incredible career, the classic hits and the stories behind them.
