The opening night of a flamboyant musical at the Lancaster Grand has been given rave reviews.

The audience was on its feet for 'Kinky Boots' by the Morecambe Warblers with Beyond Radio photographer Joshua Brandwood saying: "It’s the best musical I’ve ever seen - even compared to West End productions!"

The popular musical features a score by pop music legend Cyndi Lauper and is based on a hilarious book by Harvey Fierstein.

Josh gave the show 5 stars, saying: "The cast and crew delivered an outstanding performance.

"All I can say is, wow - what an incredible show! I was completely blown away by the outstanding cast and stunning set design.

"The Morecambe Warblers AOS are truly a credit to musical theatre, and I’m sure even Cyndi Lauper herself would agree!

"I don’t usually attend musicals, but this one was absolutely superb. The storyline was packed with emotion, and the production felt like it belonged on the West End or Broadway. Anyone who has the chance to see it is in for an absolute treat. I highly recommend it - you won’t be disappointed!"
