Morecambe Carnival 19 Headliner Act Announced

Beyond Radio welcomed The Morecambe Carnival team in to the studio to talk about plans for this year’s Morecambe Carnival which is being held on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th August.

Dave & Carla Brayshaw, Louise Ash and David Forrest from the carnival team joined Beyond Radio’s Greg Lambert to share some of the news about the forthcoming event.

We heard that local entertainer Stuart Michaels will be performing along with 80’s style local band ‘Betamax’ @betamax80sband

We also hear that Mark McKenna will be performing who was known locally for being part of the local music group ‘Ice Factory’ @icefactorymorecambe and an exciting announcement that Ice Factory could possibly reform with a special appearance for the carnival.

And the great announcement that the Saturday headlining act will be ‘The Christians’ who had top 10 hits from the 80’s and 90’s with top songs being Harvest the world’ and ‘Ferry across the Mersey’

Despite best efforts of presenter Greg who pressed for more details about the big headlining act for Sunday, the carnival team kept the secret only suggesting that exciting plans are well under way and we can look forward to another great announcement in the next few weeks.

One final exciting announcement was the partnership between the Morecambe Carnival and The Eden Project North who have shown their support for the event and as to note this partnership this year’s carnival theme will be ‘Flower Power’ and local businesses and supporters are encouraged to enter floats to follow this theme.
