Morecambe-based darts ace Dave Chisnall will take to the oche before Christmas in his first match in this year's PDC World Darts Championship.
Chizzy will face the winner of Ricky Evans and Gordon Mathers in the second round of the world's biggest darts tournament, on the evening of Monday December 23.
A total of 96 of the world's best players will take part in the tournament at the Alexandra Palace in London.
World number six Chisnall, a former BDO world darts finalist and PDC world semi-finalist, will be hoping for better form after a disappointing result in the recent televised Ladbrokes Players Championship where he lost to Andrew Gilding 6-5 in the second round.
He also suffered an early exit from the Grand Slam of Darts earlier this month.
The 2024/25 Paddy Power World Darts Championship begins on December 15 with reigning champion Luke Humphries looking to retain the title after his high-profile win against teenage sensation Luke Littler in the 2023/4 tournament.
Following a three-day Christmas break, the third and fourth rounds will be held from December 27-30, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final taking place from January 1-3. The tournament will be shown live on Sky Sports.
