Lancaster venues have vowed to give life bans to anyone taking part in far right protests in the city - as arrests were made across the county.
Kanteena and Ye Olde John O'Gaunt both posted on social media on Saturday to speak out against a demonstration which has been planned in Lancaster on Sunday.
Tensions have been high across the UK after the killing of three young girls in a knife attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport on Monday.
There have been several incidents of violent disorder in cities across the UK over the past few days, including on Saturday.
In an online video, a Lancaster man said he has organised a public protest and march in the city on Sunday morning.
He said it was to "stand in solidarity with what's happened in Southport" and "all the illegal migration which has got to stop".
He also called for the protest to be "100 per cent peaceful" and said he has met with the police ahead of the demonstration.
It is not known how many people will attend the protest.
A post advertising the protest has been shared by Tommy Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, co-founder of far right group the English Defence League.
Stand Up to Racism Lancaster and Morecambe have also organised a Unity Rally on Sunday morning in Lancaster, in response.
The Ye Olde John O'Gaunt pub's post said: "We’ve been told that far right extremists are planning an anti-migrant ‘protest’ in Lancaster tomorrow - Sunday 4th August.
"Ye Olde John O’ Gaunt are totally against this protest and its blatant attempt to spread misinformation and hate in our beautiful historic city.
"Other similar events held across the country in recent days have just been an excuse for unnecessary hatred and violence which has no place in our society.
"We are proud to part of a brilliant, diverse, intelligent caring community which we should all celebrate and cherish.
"Anyone involved in this protest will be no longer welcome here and will be barred for life from The JOG.
"We abhor any form of racism here and will always provide a safe space for anyone regardless of colour or creed. If anyone needs help or an escape - we are here!"
The Kanteena music and arts venue's post said: "It has been brought to our attention that the far right are planning an anti-migrant ‘protest’ in Lancaster on Sunday 4th August.
"Kanteena are completely against this attempt to spread misinformation and hate in our town. We are part of a brilliant, diverse community which should be celebrated and cherished.
"Anyone involved in this protest will be banned for life from our venue without question."
The violence across the UK followed a wave of misinformation posted online about the attacker.
In a statement on Saturday, Lancashire Police said:
"We can confirm more than 20 people have been arrested today (Saturday, August 3) during a large policing operation in Lancashire.
"Following this week’s tragic incident in Southport and further outbreaks of violence across the country, we became aware of possible disorder and protests planned in the county.
"Dispersal orders were issued in parts of Blackpool, Preston and Blackburn, with a number of arrests made after some disruption.
"Offences included possession of an offensive weapon, police assault, possession of a bladed article, obstructing police, conspiracy to commit violent disorder and failing to adhere to a dispersal order.
"Our policing response was focused in Blackpool close to Talbot Square, with some minor disruption reported in Blackburn and Preston.
"At this time, it is believed no officers were injured during today’s operation."
ACC Phil Davies, of Lancashire Police, said: “We have today made a significant number of arrests following tension in Blackpool and some minor disruption in parts of Preston and Blackburn.
"In Blackpool, we have witnessed some mindless thuggery from individuals, who we believe to be from outside of the county, intent on causing issues in our communities.
“We have also seen some small pockets of tension elsewhere in the county, but, thanks to a robust partnership response to our policing plan, this was swiftly dealt with.
“I would like to thank the good people of our communities for their support during today's operation.
“Lancashire Police will continue to respond robustly to anyone planning disorder.”
Not all demonstrations held across the UK descended into violence on Saturday, and in some places protesters dispersed quickly.
Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, died in the Southport attack and other children and adults were injured.
Axel Muganwa Rudakanuba, 17, from Banks, Lancashire, appeared in court on Thursday charged with murder and attempted murders, and was remanded into youth detention accommodation.
