A couple who have devoted their lives to helping animals in the Morecambe area will be given a special send-off after stepping down from running a charity.
Carol and Don Holroyd ran Save A Pet, which has saved the lives of many animals, for more than 30 years.
Save A Pet is dedicated to helping sick or injured animals and raise money to help support people whose pets need emergency treatment.
The charity will hold a retirement party for the Holroyds at Vale of Lune Rugby Union Club on Friday November 29.
A post on the Save A Pet Facebook page said:
"Let me tell you how wonderful this amazing pair have been.
"Over 30 years they were part of a team with Peter B Leeming who set up Save A Pet.
"Sadly Peter passed away and Carol, Don and trustees took over the charity and have helped to save so many animals.
"We are hosting a celebration to commemorate their time and efforts given to Morecambe Bay animals."
Karen Hayes, who became main mandate holder for the charity in 2023, and now runs it alongside Laura Norman, said: "Carol and Don have helped so many animals over the years.
"They have done an amazing job and the charity is doing so well.
"We've had so many letters and thank you cards from owners of the animals they've helped. Don was 'The Hedgehog Man' of Morecambe.
"They raised so much money and it's been hard graft for them. They've put their heart and soul into it. We just can't praise them enough.
"We've got a tough act to follow."
The free event will include entertainment from music duo Blue Bay and magician Darren Brand. Beyond Bear will also make an appearance.
Doors open at 7pm and buffet is included.
