The Morecambe branch of Halifax bank inside the Arndale centre will close early next year.
The closure is one of many across the country and will leave the town centre with just one remaining bank or building society for customers to visit in person.
The branch will shut its doors on January 7 2025.
Halifax said that 46 per cent of its customers have been using other Halifax branches during the year ending April 2024, with 74 per cent using other branches or online banking or phone banking in the six months up to April 2024,
A total of 665 customers transacted at the counter or Immediate Deposit Machine (IDM) four months out of six up to April 2024.
The closure is one of an extra 55 branches of Halifax, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland branches to close nationwide, announced by Lloyds Banking Group.
The branches of Halifax on Highgate, Kendal and Lloyds on Finkle Street are also among the closures. They will shut on February 10.
A statement from Halifax said: "Before we close any branch, we look at how our customers are managing their money and using the branch.
"Most customers are now using our mobile banking app, online banking or calling us instead. This means they are using branches, including our Morecambe branch much less.
"Because of this, we'll be closing our Morecambe branch."
They said that staff will support customers to get started with the mobile banking app and online banking.
After the closure, a community banker will visit the area. They will set up in a nearby venue or banking hub for customers to see in person for help with banking. More details are to be released about this.
The nearest remaining Halifax branch will be in Penny Street, Lancaster. Customers are being encouraged to use other nearby services including Morecambe Post Office or the cash machine outside Nationwide on Euston Road.
Nationwide will be the one remaining bank or building society branch left in Morecambe town centre, following closures of others including TSB, HSBC, Nat West, Barclays and Santander in recent years.
