Lancaster schools have been part of a carol service inspired by the Princess of Wales' annual 'Together at Christmas' event.
Pupils from Central Lancaster High School and Ripley St Thomas C of E Academy attended the Prince and Princess of Wales' Royal Foundation Together at Christmas Community Carol Service, held at Blackpool Tower Circus on Friday.
A post on the Ripley St Thomas Facebook page said: "Ripley musicians were incredibly honoured to have been approached to provide the musical accompaniment for (the) 'Together at Christmas' Carol Service held at Blackpool Tower.
"The pupils performed brilliantly, and each received a letter from HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales.
"Well done to Hannah L (Y9), Caleb E (Y8), Heidi S (Y11), Edward H (Y10), Dan S (Y13), Megan D (Y9), Megan B (Y11) and Gabriel S (Y12)."
Pupils Archie Boardman, Charlotte Holgate, Alice Tenbey and Beatie Silveira-Barlow from Central Lancaster High School were nominated to attend by their teachers.
This was for "their demonstration of our important school value of community, where this term between them they have; setting up a basketball club that runs weekly for pupils, supporting a pupil in the community, volunteering in lessons and around school continuously to support and bring out the best in other pupils".
They had been invited by Amanda Parker, Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, and Helen Bingley OBE, High Sheriff of Lancashire.
Victoria Crossman, acting head teacher at Central Lancaster High School said: "We are very proud of the pupils and to be able to attend with our friends at Ripley St Thomas who led the carol singing with their beautiful musical accompaniment.
"We are incredibly grateful to Helen Bingley OBE, High Sheriff of Lancashire, for putting us forward for our invitation and look forward to working closely with her in the near future to support The Abaseen Foundation."
The Blackpool service was one of several around the UK inspired by The Princess of Wales’ annual ‘Together at Christmas’ service at Westminster Abbey.
Thousands of people across the UK gather at a series of 15 local carol services to celebrate the contributions local individuals and organisations make in support of others.
