Lancaster Music Festival launches ‘Search for a Star’

Bosses of the Lancaster Music Festival are offering the chance for young musicians to be mentored by music industry professionals as part of their 2022 event.

The festival is running a Search for a Star competition ahead of the event in October, with the chance to win the opportunity to perform on the main stages of the festival itself.

Musicians taking part in the competition will receive practical guidance to prepare them for performing on stage and progressing in the music business.

During interactive rehearsal sessions performance mentoring with Sony International recording artists LOWES will cover subjects such as performance technique, stagecraft, vocal coaching, repertoire development and audience engagement. Separate music business sessions with Fear Records will cover how to represent and promote themselves to agents, management and venues.

Applicants must be aged between 14 and 20, a band, group or solo artist playing mainly original popular modern music of any genre and resident in the City of Lancaster district (post codes LA1 to LA7).

The deadline for applications has been extended and will close at midnight on Friday June 10th.
