INTERVIEW and VIDEO: Pro wrestler takes on 3 and a half hour endurance challenge at Lancaster monument

Jamie Hutchinson training for his endurance challenge at the Ashton Memorial in Lancaster

A pro wrestler and strongman from Morecambe will take on a gruelling endurance challenge to help families struggling with the cost of living crisis.

Jamie Hutchinson is training to tackle a half marathon (around 13 miles) on a rowing machine followed immediately by more than 11,000 steps up and down the Ashton Memorial in Lancaster.

The 38-year-old fitness fanatic aims to complete the challenge on Bank Holiday Monday in less than three-and-a-half hours.

Jamie is also known for his pro wrestling alter-ego 'Psychotic Warrior' Johnny Phere, a three-time heavyweight champion in our local area.

He wrestled for 20 years, appearing regularly at Morecambe venues between 2006 and 2019, and has also competed in strongman events.

But years of wrestling took a toll on his body, as he is now suffering from a degenerative spinal condition.

However, he told Beyond Radio that this wouldn't stop him from taking on this immense challenge.
