A popular group for Armed Forces veterans in Morecambe town centre is having to move due to a major roof leak.
The Bay Veterans Association hub opened on the Euston Road precinct just over a year ago.
The group recently welcomed its 400th member and has become renowned across the North West for supporting veterans of the Forces.
But water coming in from the roof of the building means the hub is currently closed and the Association is looking for a new home.
"There's water everywhere," said Gary Kniveton from the Bay Veterans Association, speaking to Beyond Radio on Monday.
"All the tiles have been coming down. We're worried about our computers and furniture getting damaged.
"At the moment, our members have nowhere to go and everything is on hold.
"But everyone is rallying round. There is a group of us cleaning up.
"We will be looking to be rehoused in a new unit, hopefully in the Arndale Centre.
"The landlords are coming up tomorrow to assess the situation and we're going to have a look at the new unit."
Gary said that the regular breakfast clubs for veterans, organised by the Association (pictured below), will take place as normal.
Their Morecambe event this Wednesday, October 9, will now take place from 10am at The Pier Hotel.
"We have been overwhelmed by the community response in Morecambe in turning this disaster on its head already," he said.
"We look foward to reopening as soon as possible in a larger location and welcoming as many of you as possible in a bigger and better Veterans Community Hub."
The Bay Veterans' Association hub is a place where local veterans go to meet each other and receive support.
The hub opened in 2023 opposite the Travelodge, in the former Lancaster and Morecambe College training centre.
The Association was set up last year by Mr Kniveton, a retired sports teacher and ex-Royal Marine.
